The Dulin Family (Ends of the Earth)
24 Days until REACH 2015! Today we’re featuring the Dulin Family who is serving in Perm, Russia. Jon has been serving in Perm, Russia since 1999 and as a family since 2003. They have three kids, Caleb (10), Abigail (8), and David (5). Their vision is to see Russia (Russian speaking world) transformed by the Gospel one person at a time through evangelism, training, and mercy ministries.
When Jon began serving in Perm in 1999, he helped pioneer Youth With a Mission Perm. Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. YWAM unites in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.
YWAM Perm was founded with the goal of seeing “Worship in the Perm province overflow in missionary zeal to all nations.” Today, YWAM Perm provides training for Missionaries from across Russia around the world each year. It is our goal to equip and prepare both individuals and churches to take part in fulfilling the Great Commission. Some of the training opportunities available at YWAM Perm include:
• DTS – Discipleship Training
• SBS – Biblical Studies
• SBCW – Biblical Christian Worldview
In 2007 John became the director of the Discipleship Training School through YWAM Perm. The Discipleship Training (DTS) seeks to bring students into a more intimate relationship with God. It gives them an opportunity to discover their passions and their part in God’s purposes for the world. The DTS is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.
The DTS course in Perm, Russia is a full-time program and lasts five months. It consists of two parts: the DTS Lecture Phase and the DTS Outreach Phase. During the lecture phase, conducted in Perm, Russia, students learn more about God and His world through lectures by gifted teachers and through community living and practical training. The outreach phase, usually conducted in a Central Asian country, focuses on applying what students learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.
Jon still serves as the director of the Discipleship Training School and Carrie is both a full-time mom and helps with administration of DTS.
