Getting Right With God

This powerful message explores what it truly means to get right with God through the lens of Matthew 7:1-5, where Jesus challenges us about judging others while ignoring our own faults. We discover that God's judgment is fundamentally different from human criticism. While we often rush to condemn and size people up in an instant, God's judgment is about transformation and restoration, not condemnation. The sermon reveals that righteousness is not about pointing out the specks in others' eyes while logs remain in our own, but about allowing God to convert and transform us into who we were always meant to be. We learn that criticism stems from competition, from trying to lift ourselves up by pushing others down, which keeps us stagnant. Instead, God calls us to practice holy curiosity, to give people space and grace to see themselves in the mirror of Jesus Christ. The path to Jesus is paved with love that is patient, kind, keeps no record of wrongs, and rejoices in what is right. When we embrace this love, forgiveness becomes our foundation, opening every possibility for renewed and converted lives. This message challenges us to let go of prejudgments and recognize that our only mission is to love one another, because love is the most powerful force in the universe, the very essence of who God is.
