Silver and Gold

What does it truly mean to be generous, and how do our values show up in the way we actually live? This sermon launches a series on generosity as a lived experience, drawing from Proverbs 3:5-14, which calls us to trust God completely, honor him with the first fruits of what we have, and embrace the wisdom that surpasses any earthly wealth. The central insight here is striking: our values are not revealed by what we purchase, but by what we are willing to give away. Everything we buy is temporary. Everything we give in genuine love carries the weight of eternity. We are invited to examine the gap between what we say we believe and how we actually live, because generosity is not a feeling tucked quietly in the heart. It is a visible, tangible expression of faith in a God whose love never fades and whose resources are not limited by the world's economy. This is a message that challenges us to move beyond sentiment and into action.
