BackPack Ministry Collection
It’s Back-to-School Season!
That means UCUMC’s BackPack Ministry is gearing up for another school year!
On Sunday, September 6, and Sunday, September 13, we’ll be collecting food to fill weekend backpacks for children and families at David Cox Road Elementary School who are experiencing food insecurity.
You can help by bringing items from the list below when you come to church on either Sunday. We’ll have a collection point in front of the Gathering Space beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Items Needed
Every item you donate helps us fill a backpack with food for the weekend—and reminds a child and their family that their community cares about them.

- 16-ounce canned vegetables
- Boxes of mac and cheese
- Individual-serving fruit cups
- Individual-serving applesauce
- Instant flavored oatmeal packets
- Instant grits packets
- Cereal bars, protein bars, or fruit bars
- Single-serving treats such as Oreos, Rice Krispies Treats, gummies, popcorn, and more
