REACH, UCUMC's Annual Missions Conference, is designed to highlight various missions in our community and around the world. Our hope is that REACH will enlarge the local, regional, and global missions vision of UCUMC and help the congregation find their place in missions in whatever way God calls.
Goals for REACH:
- Glorify God
- Enlarge our vision by personally getting to know local, regional, and international missionaries and agencies.
- Engage disciples by providing ways for our congregation to be involved with missions
- Raise finances through Faith Promise Commitments
- Lives surrendered to Christ and missions in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Ends of the Earth
Our Leadership Team has prayerfully sought the Lord and planned REACH in such a way that we believe God can be most glorified. Proverbs 16:3 states, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed.”
Enlarge Our Vision & Engage Disciples
During this 5 day event, UCUMC will be hosting missionaries and agencies from around the corner and around the world so members of our congregation can get to know them. You’ll have the opportunity to meet local, regional, and international missionaries and get to know them through presentations, panel discussions, and small group conversations. Ask them questions about how God called them into the mission field. Learn about the great things God is doing in their part of the world. Discover specific ways to pray for them and help support their work. Check back for 2018 Registration Dates.
Faith Promise Commitment
A Faith Promise commitment is an agreement between you and God, that as God enables, you will give a specific amount during the year to the Global Missions program. This is a commitment to give by faith, based on God’s promises, expecting Him to enable you to give it. We will never ask you for your Faith Promise Commitment. This is a commitment that as God provides, you will give.
While raising finances is not the primary goal of REACH, we hope that God will enable us as a church to financially support the missionaries and mission agencies that will be attending REACH. As monetary donations are available, the missions committee will make decisions to allocate based on the Missions Policy. The goal for all ministries is to divide funds evenly. However, the deviation will be between 15-40 percent; with no quadrant (Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Ends of the Earth) receiving less than 15 percent and no quadrant receiving more than 40 percent.
